I hope this post finds everyone well and enjoying getting into the swing of the holiday season, no matter what holiday you celebrate. It is a time of year that brings loved ones closer together, helps us reflect on the past year, and look forward to a new one. While it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of shopping, planning, and cooking, I still find this to be a beautiful time of year. So, before I go on and share a very special story, and a very special deal, I want to wish everyone a beautiful and love filled holiday season. All the best to the best people I know, and the best people I hope to get to know.
Let me tell you a bit about a very special friend of mine named Wendy. Wendy and I have been friends for about 6 years now, but I can tell you that she is like the long lost sister that I never had. I am so thankful for her friendship, and it is an honor to know such an amazing woman. Wendy has four amazing children, all through adoption, which is a great way to build a family! (as you know, two of my children are adopted) Now it is time for Wendy to adopt again. She tells her story much better than I ever possibly could, so if you do not mind, I want to redirect you to a couple of great blog posts about her adoption journey: http://lifewithducks.blogspot.com/2013/09/yes-its-true.html
And you can go here to read a moving little story that explains it from her son’s point of view (I always need a tissue when I read this!) http://lifewithducks.blogspot.com/2013/10/saving-batman.html
Now that you know a bit about Wendy, and her quest to Save Batman, let me tell you why I am sharing her story, and then what this very special Cyber Monday (ahem, really it will extend…) offer to be able to help bring Batman home.
China has many rules about adopting, and they have recently added a new one: adopting parents MUST have an adult to accompany them to pick up their child. As a single mom, Wendy needs a travel companion in order to save Batman. Guess who gets that honor? Yes! You guessed it! Me! I am so honored, I cannot even begin to put it into words. This is a chance of a lifetime for Wendy, and by extension, myself. I will go and help her bring her little boy home, and will be able to document his adoption story in the process with my photography.
The glitch? It is darn expensive to get to China. Which brings me to this fabulous deal, which is strictly a fundraiser so I can go and help Wendy bring her son home. I need to raise a minimum of $3,000 before this spring. I have decided that the best way to do this is to offer you all a great deal, and use 100% of the funds to help Wendy bring her son home. What? You want to know what the deal is? Read on, then ask questions, and share!
